Of all the artists that came through the doors of Sky Hero Productions, Willie Clayton and I hit it off as if we were brothers.

Whatever we were working on we were always able to have a great time doing it.  Willie used to drop by just to say hi or to see if I needed anything for dinner, lunch, breakfast, whatever.  He turned me on to the best soul food in Chicago.  It was a restaurant called Gladys's on the south side of Chicago.

I was almost always the only white guy in the joint, which raised a lot of eyebrows.  But as soon as the customers recognized Willie, it suddenly became alright.  I used to get such a kick out of that.  Over the years, I engineered several projects with Willie and did some live shows as well. 

Willie, wherever you are, keep on keepin' on.
